My car brakes are troubling me, so I went to a auto care center and they gave me an estimation of $532.34 including tax. They made their estimation on the following parts: 1) 1 Front brakes ( $189.99) 2) 2 Front rotors ($ 189.98) 3) 1 Driver caliper ( $99.99) I am a student and i don’t know much about car stuff nor do i know how much money should i spent this

We need to buy a first car for our 18 year old son to drive to and from college, but we are from the UK and just don’t know which makes of car are good as they’re mostly different to the ones we see in the UK. We are looking for safety, decent miles per gallon, reliability and inexpensive for parts and labor. These cars are all stick shift as that’s what we drive and they are all Southern Californian cars.
